Happy New Year!

January 2nd, 2009

The year just started, and it’s already off to a great start. I don’t make resolutions, but one of my goals last year was to read the old testement from beginning to end. I’d read probably 85% (have you ever heard of the book Habbakuk?) but wanted to be able to say I’ve read the good book from cover-to-cover. And now I can say I have. Aside from the two days I travelled, I have read my bible every single day in 2008. I feel so proud of myself it’s ridiculous! I’m smiling like a Deal Or No Deal contestant! No, I haven’t won a million dollars, but I’m a stronger, more wiser, more determined Christian and for that I give God thanks!

Here’s the next super-awesome thing that happened. I was on the phone for an hour last night with (drum roll please) SANDRA KITT, JAQUELIN THOMAS and ADRIANNE BRYD!!! I’m so excited I can hardly type! Not only are these women award-winning and much-loved authors, they are funny and down-to-earth and I didn’t want our time together to end! We are writing a continuity series for Kimani entitled, Hollington Homecoming. I don’t want to give away too much, but the four stories are about eight friends who return to Atlanta for their 10-year college reunion. You could imagine all the drama, the excitement and the passion as old lovers and  acquaintances reunite.

Like I said, I’m loving 2009 already, and there’s no telling what God will do in our lives over the next twelve months…

Be blessed and walk in your destiny!
