Today is my birthday (Tuesday May 12)  and what a lovely day it’s been. Truth be told, I celebrate my birthday the entire month of May. And why shouldn’t I? I work hard, take care of my family and friends, and not to toot my own horn, but I’m a darn good woman! Ha,ha (I’m not kidding, ya’ll) My girlfriends always tease me, but my sister Bettey and I have been celebrating our birthdays like this since we were teens. I adore my husband, and he takes very good care of me, but mama still needs a little extra pamering! I am not a high roller, and I am very careful with my money, but I treat myself to some of my favorite things during my birthday month. I might go to a movie, or take myself out for lunch, or buy the books and CDS I’ve been dying to get. My husband and daughter took me out for a nice dinner, and enjoyed laughing and joking around. I’m strong and healthy, loved and admired, thankful and truly feeling blessed, and that’s the best birthday gift in the world!
